Yossi Alfi has devoted most of his public activities
to the field of community theater.
This field has increasingly become recognized
as a serious area of study, as the existence of Community Theater programs at numerous universities demonstrates.
Yossi is the founder of the Community Theater program
at Tel Aviv University. He has also taught various courses at other institutions in Israel, including at Bar-Ilan University’s School of Social Work; Israel’s School For Senior Educators; and Kahal -- the Israeli Foundation for Community Theater.
Yossi has greatly contributed to the promotion of community theater. His courses are intended for community activists, directors, leaders, social centers, teachers, and social workers; the aim is to broaden their knowledge and encourage independent and original theater creativity.
Yossi is the founder of the Storytelling Festival and serves
as its artistic director. He is a well-known Israeli storyteller, whose stories are frequently broadcast by the media
(radio, television, videos, and CD).
Yossi has also established storytelling courses in Israeli theater. Students of these courses come from various walks of life: they include theater people, educators, cultural leaders, lawyers, medical staff, businessmen, and senior citizens.
The following is a list of some of the courses and workshops available in English or Hebrew:
